$147 Million Spent on California's Nov. Ballot Measures

Nov 5, 2010 - On the nine state-wide measures on the Nov. 2, 2010 ballot, supporters and opponents spent a combined $147 million trying to sway public opinion. Topping the list is Charles T. Munger, Jr. and his wife, Charlotte A. Lowell, with the couple putting in over $12.6 million. Not far behind is the California Teachers Association with $11.5 million. In total, 40 individuals and organizations gave $1,000,000 or more.

Prop. 26 Passes

Nov. 3, 2010 - Prop. 26 passed on Tuesday with supporters getting 52.9% of the vote (3,692,156) and opponents receiving 47.1% of the vote (3,298,677).

Prop. 26 Sees Small Contributions Trickle in On Either Side in Final Run Up to the Election

Nov. 2, 2010 - A few more contributions trickled in on each side of Prop. 26 on Monday. Supporters received $5,000 and opponents received $4,052. In total, supporters have raised $18.3 million and opponents have raised almost $6.6 million.
