Cal PSA Adds $150,000 to Oppose Prop. 26

Oct. 20, 2010 - The California Public Securities Association (Cal PSA) contributed $150,000 to oppose Prop. 26 yesterday.  Supporters of Prop. 26 raised $73,000 yesterday, bringing their total contributions to just under $14 million.

Contributions Opposing Prop. 26 Reach $3 Million, Supporters Are Approaching $14 Million

Oct. 19, 2010 - Contributions opposing Prop. 26 have reached $3 million, bolstered by an additional $216,409 from the Democratic State Central Committee of California, which has given a total of almost $1 million to the campaign. Contributions from supporters are up to $13.9 million with the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association adding $124,908 on Monday, for a total of $308,040.

American Beverage Association Adds $1.2 Million to Support Prop. 26

Oct. 18, 2010 - The latest campaign finance filings from the California Secretary of State website shows an additional $1.9 million raised by supporters of Prop. 26, including $1.2 million from the American Beverage Association (bringing the total contributions from that organization to $1.95 million). The American Beverage Association is the trade association representing companies that manufacture and distribute non-alcoholic beverages in the United States. Contributions from groups opposing Prop. 26 have reached almost $2.8 million, while total contributions from Prop.

Prop. 26 Opposition Still Trails Supporters by $9 Million Despite Recent Funding Boost

Oct. 15, 2010 - The opposition to Prop. 26 raised almost $1 million on Wednesday, including $586,739 from the Democratic State Central Committee of California and $250,000 from the California Teachers Association, bringing total contributions to more than $2.7 million. However, contributions in opposition to Prop. 26 still trail contributions raised by Prop. 26 supporters by almost $9 million.

Chevron Boosts Support For Prop. 26 Grows by Almost $2 Million

Oct. 14, 2010 - Chevron gave $1.25 million in support of Prop. 26 on Wednesday, the largest single contribution to date, bringing their total to $2.5 million. Prop. 26 would raise the vote threshold necessary in the California state legislature to pass certain state and local fees. Eleven new organizations gave money in support yesterday, nine of which were in the Oil & Gas industry.
