Cash Grain Influence Shows Through on Ethanol Vote Redo

June 16, 2011 - The Senate voted (73-27) today to adopt an amendment (Feinstein Amdt. No. 476) that would repeal the Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit. An amendment with similar language was defeated earlier this week (see related post).

Methodology: Includes reported contributions to congressional campaigns of Senators in office on day of vote, from Wheat, corn, soybeans and cash grain interest groups, January 1, 2005 – December 31, 2010. Contributions data source: Center for Responsive Politics (OpenSecrets.org).
