The Deception of Anti-Abortion Centers by Maya Perelman, Sep 2, 2008 (4:56am)

The passage of this bill would herald a victory for the pro-choice camp, and for the advancement of women’s right to abortion. Prohibiting false advertising for abortion services, the bill targets Crisis Pregnancy Centers, which are set up to look like health clinics, but are in fact run by conservative religious groups with the sole purpose of preventing abortions. The bill would not force CPCs to close down, but simply prohibit them from pretending to be legitimate health care providers.
