Upholding "sanctity of life" by destroying bodily sovereignty by Maya Perelman, Aug 29, 2008 (7:04am)

This bill represents another attempt by Ron Paul to overturn the Roe v. Wade ruling by declaring that human life exists from the moment of conception—the upshot, of course, being that abortion would be legally considered murder. Essentially, whether or not you agree with bill depends on your views on abortion. Ultimately, I believe that regardless of whether abortion is right or wrong, the government has no right to impose a decision upon a woman’s body—and the bill is a step backward to destroy the freedom upheld in 1973.
