Combatting Internet Dangers by Tiffany Hsieh, Mar 13, 2008 (7:04am)

This bill responds to the growing importance of the internet in daily life and the dangers associated with it (identity theft, cyber bullies, etc). It tries to promote internet safety through education instead of blocking sites. Most organizations support the general direction and goals of the bill. However, the dispute lies in the appropriation of grants for internet safety education groups. Most have rallied around this Senate bill instead of the House bill, which gives money to a single group, i-SAFE inc.
