S. 3130 Helps Airlines by Michael Yu, Jul 17, 2008 (5:31pm)

In our world of rising oil costs, airlines are often amongst those hit hardest. Airlines already earn little profit and the current rise in oil prices have forced many airlines to reduce the number of available carriers. Furthermore, passengers are also hurt because services that were previously complimentary now requires fees. This bill will allow the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to have power over speculation, allowing for transparency and thus a price relief for both airlines as well as its passengers.
