SA 3237. Ms. LANDRIEU submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by her to the bill H.R. 3093, making appropriations for the Departments of Commerce and Justice, and Science, and Related Agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2008, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

On page 16, line 11, strike the period at the end and insert ``:
Provided further, That of the funds provided under this heading, up to $5,000,000 is made available for competitive grants to qualified universities for the purposes of improving large-scale floodplain research directly applicable to floodplain management and wetland remediation, coastal restoration, and water quality problems related to the channelization and control of the Mississippi River.''.
