Downed Animal and Food Safety Protection Act

- Summary
- Authorizes the humane euthanasia of livestock that is nonambulatory (unable to walk). The bill also authorizes the Secretary of Agriculture to set forth regulations regarding the humane treatment of nonambulatory livestock. The bill includes definitions of the terms "humanely euthanize" and "nonambulatory livestock". (by CRS)
