Full Text of this Amendment
At the appropriate place, insert the following:
SEC. __. MARKETING OF CERTAIN CRUSTACEANS.
(a) IN GENERAL.--Notwithstanding any other provision of law, for purposes of the Federal Food, Drug, and, Costmetic Act (21 U.S.C. 301 et seq.) the term ``lobster'' may not be used to label or advertise the sale of any seafood product from the infraorder Garidea or Anomura.
(b) MISBRANDED FOOD.--Section 403 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (21 U.S.C. 343) is amended by adding at the end the following:
(y) LOBSTER.--If it purports to be, or is represented as being, lobster but is from the infraorder Caridea or Anomura.''.
