Full Text of this Amendment

SA 1086. Mr. BUNNING submitted an amendment intended to be proposed to amendment SA 1058 proposed by Mr. Dodd (for himself and Mr. Shelby) to the bill H.R. 627, to amend the Truth in Lending Act to establish fair and transparent practices relating to the extension of credit under an open end consumer credit plan, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

At the end of title I, add the following:
SEC. 109. EFFECTIVE DATE.
Except as provided in sections 101(a)(2) and 106(b)(2), and notwithstanding section 3 or any other provision of this Act or the amendments made by this Act, this title and the amendments made by this title shall become effective 9 months after the date on which the Board provides written certification to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs of the Senate and the Committee on Financial Services of the House of Representatives that the provisions of this title and the amendments
made by this title will not reduce the availability or increase the price of credit for consumers or small businesses.
