Dec. 17, 2010 -- The New York Times reports that Rep. Peter King (R-NY) has been chosen by Republican leadership to chair the House Committee on Homeland Security in the 112th Congress. Rep. King is currently the ranking minority member of the committee and is also a member of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
King represents New York's 3rd Congressional District, which includes the city of Long Beach.
